Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Wedding Overview handles health information about wedding guests. It applies in every US state, wherever a guest lives.
1. Who we are
- Company: Miron Digital
- Trade name: Wedding Overview
- Address: Deken Darraslaan 5 bus 101, 8700 Tielt, Belgium
- Email: hallo@weddingoverview.com
For the health information described here, Wedding Overview carries the duties of this policy itself. That is also true where a couple decides about the other details of their guests.
2. The laws this policy follows
This policy is based on the Washington My Health My Data Act, the Nevada consumer health data law, and the Connecticut Data Privacy Act. The rights and deadlines below follow the strictest of these laws, and they apply to every guest in every state.
3. The health information we collect
On the RSVP form of a wedding website, a guest can share:
- dietary needs, including a religious diet such as halal or kosher, which some states treat as sensitive
- allergies
- accessibility needs, including wheelchair access
- a pregnancy
- a free-text note about health or care
- answers to custom questions that the couple marks as sensitive, for example about health or diet
4. Why we collect it and how we use it
We use this information only so the couple can plan their wedding day: the menu, the seating, and access to the venue. We use it for nothing else.
5. Where it comes from
- the guest, through the RSVP form of the wedding website
- a member of the guest's group who answers for the group and confirms they have the guest's permission
- the couple, or a helper they invited, on the guest's behalf after asking the guest
6. Who receives it
- the couple and the helpers they invite into their wedding plan
- our database hosting provider, which stores the information for us on our instructions in a data center in Frankfurt, Germany. The full list of companies is sent on request to hallo@weddingoverview.com
- the caterer and the venue, only when the couple exports the information for them, and only with consent: dietary needs and allergies go to the caterer, accessibility needs to the venue. A pregnancy, the free-text note and answers to sensitive custom questions stay with the couple
- authorities, only when the law requires it
We have no affiliates that receive this information. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we never place a geofence around a place where health care is provided.
We place no advertising or analytics code from other companies on our pages. Two services see a technical request: the map on a wedding website loads its tiles from a map service, which sees the visitor's IP address, and a place search in the app goes to a place search service, which receives the search term and the IP address. Neither receives names or guest details.
7. Your rights
- confirm whether we hold health information about you, and get a copy, with the list of companies that received it from us and how to contact them. The caterer or venue receives it only through the couple's export, so the couple can tell you which one
- correct it
- withdraw your consent
- have it deleted
These rights are free, and you do not need an account.
8. How to use your rights
Email hallo@weddingoverview.com, or ask the couple, who can change or remove the information in the app. We may ask you to confirm that the request comes from you, for example by replying from the email address the couple has for you.
- We respond within one month of receiving your request.
- When you withdraw consent, we stop using the information within 15 days.
- When you ask us to delete it, we delete it within 30 days and tell the companies that work for us. Our backup copies are overwritten automatically within eight days after that. If the couple already exported it, that copy is with the couple, and we tell them about your request.
9. Appeals
If we refuse all or part of your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer or by emailing hallo@weddingoverview.com. We decide within 45 days and tell you in writing what we did and why. If we deny your appeal, we tell you how to file a complaint with the Attorney General of your state.
10. How long we keep it
- The scheduled retention period is twelve months after the wedding date. Automatic deletion only takes place once a warning has been delivered to the couple and at least fourteen full days have elapsed after delivery. You can request earlier deletion.
- If the wedding has no date set, the scheduled end date is twelve months after the last login of anyone in the wedding plan, or creation if nobody has signed in. The same delivered warning and fourteen full days of grace apply.
It is deleted earlier when you withdraw consent or ask us to delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
A new version of this policy appears on this page with its version number and date. Before we use health information for a new purpose, or collect a new kind of health information, we ask for consent again.
